Steeplejack Mate/Rope Access Technician

Full Time

Salary: Above Industry Rate of Pay

Location: Nottingham

We are currently looking for an experienced Steeplejack Mate/Rope Access Technician.

You will be required to attend our Nottingham offices on a regular basis and will be instructed to carry out a variety of work at height, according to individual job specifications, following instructions on the method statement and risk assessment. You will be required to work at various sites nationwide.

The ability to work away from home when required is essential and will be needed on a regular basis.

Office Administrator Apprentice

Full Time

Salary: Range: £10,000 - £12,000

Location: Nottingham

As we continue to expand, we also look to grow talent and develop a motivated, skilled and qualified workforce. We now have an amazing opportunity to take on an office admin apprentice to join our friendly team within our Nottingham based admin department.

You will get exposed to a wide variety of duties including data entry, monitoring client portals, utilising a range of computer packages such as Excel, Word and Outlook. You will also be dealing with client queries via telephone or email.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Maintain an up-to-date database of client information, including addresses, telephone numbers and any other appropriate data on the current system
  • Maintain and update all relevant spreadsheets
  • Monitor and process the company’s main email address on a daily basis, ensuring all emails are handled in a timely manner
  • General office duties as and when required

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

As with any apprenticeship opportunity – if you prove yourself to be a valuable member of the team there is a strong chance of a permanent post within the business.

Graduate Structural Engineer

Full Time

Salary: Range: £25,000 to £30,000

Location: Nottingham

Our business is fascinating and constantly developing and we are looking for a determined structural engineer to not only take on a structural integrity reporting role but to help drive sustainability principles into working practices that align with client and business objectives and our company values.

Main duties will include:

  • Prepare technical reports, designs and drawings
  • Make calculations about pressures, loads and stresses to determine repair/maintenance best practice in line with legal and health and safety guidelines.
  • Consider the strength of construction repair/maintenance materials and select appropriately adopting a cost-effective approach.
  • Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction
  • To assist in ensuring projects are carried out to agreed budgets and timescales
  • As required, carry out an engineering review of customer’s requirements for all projects that the company is tendering. Ensure reviews are carried out at the appropriate level for the level of risk involved.
  • Communicating sustainable business concepts, principles and approaches both internal and to our clients
  • Completing sustainability activities
  • Sustainability auditing of working practices and reporting to various stakeholders

Requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent
  • IT Literate – strong MS Office skills
  • Experience in report writing
  • Up to date understanding of best practices regarding building safety measures
  • Good working knowledge of construction methods, materials and legal regulations
  • Highly analytical, works methodically with good attention to detail
  • Confident presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels, in all professionals and maintain good client relations
  • Ability to develop excellent commercial awareness
  • Identify own learning and development needs and seek opportunities to address them
