Nathan Corden

Nathan Corden

Being a family business, Nathan spent much of his childhood in and around the business, then on leaving college in 1995 Nathan first joined as a trainee Steeplejack & Lightning Conductor Engineer and spent a number of years learning the trade.

After a break when Nathan gained experience in different companies and different industries and the way the other businesses operated and were run. He returned to the Central High Rise in 2002, as a Lightning Protection Test Engineer for 5 years before moving into the position of Sales Representative & Technical Surveyor.

In 2009 Nathan joined the board as Commercial Director, since this period his role has been to identify the key areas where the business has changed and continues to evolve. As an Industrial Climbing Services business Central High Rise has had to grow and adapt to carrying out more than just traditional Steeplejack works; becoming more of a services based company with a high percentage of inspection based works.

There has also been an identified change in the customer requirement and the expectations of the clients and the need to deliver documentation in a timely manner. Clients are no longer prepared to wait for documentation they want it immediately and need it immediately with the ever increasing pressures for companies to conform.

Ian Townsend

Ian Townsend

Ian has worked in the Steeplejack industry for over 20 years joining Central High Rise in 1995 to complete his apprenticeship. Starting in the trades Ian has been a Steeplejack’s mate, Steeplejack and Foreman prior to joining the Sales team and learning to survey, price and quote for business.

Moving across into an operational role of the business, Ian then spent 3 years as Contracts Manager before his promotion to Contracts Director in 2009.

Key to Ian’s success has been that he fully understands the operational side of the business from both the steeplejack and man management prospective. With the maintained respect of the teams of Engineers, Abseilers and Steeplejacks in the field, Ian’s task is to ensure the team at Central High Rise continue to deliver work projects on time, cost effectively for customers and most importantly safely.

Ian is also a council member of the SLPTG - The Steeplejacks and Lightning Protection Training Group.
